Advert Reflection- Chloe Cleary

Advert Reflection
For unit 30 we did advertisement production, we had to develop two ideas for a TV advert. In this report I will be talking about the adverts my group created. The first thing I will be talking about is advertising techniques. For the first advert, “Temptation” we used rebel and a little bit of humour. The part of the advert where Declan takes Aarons Dairy milk chocolate bar this would show a bit of rebel because it goes against society’s norms. The humour in this advert would be that part where Aaron comes back and sees Declan eating his Dairy milk and there is a close up of Declan’s face. The second advert we created was “Ghost” the advertising technique we used in this advert was interesting character and the bit this applies to the ghost which was played by Aaron.
The next thing I will be talking about is the types of editing we decided to use. For the “Temptation” advert the editing we used was a mixture of slow and medium edited shots. For the “Ghost” advert we decided to use one shot for the whole advert because the effect we were going for was CCTV camera. We used a dark green tint to make the shot look darker and more convincing. We also added am effect called noise burst which cave the shot a fizzy effect and we layered the two shots to create the ghost effect.
I think both adverts were effective the both fit into the Cadburys techniques, which is random and off topic and have a little bit of humour, that’s what make people remember adverts which will persuade people to buy the product.
In my opinion I think the first advert “Ghost” could be improved by adding music or sound effects that would go well with the theme such as wind blowing. The second advert should be improved by the story line I think it’s a little bit boring.
The “ghost advert does not cross any guidelines because it’s not misleading, harmful or offensive and we used a mix of ethnicity. “Temptation” advert does not harm people of offend bur people may think the rebel element is misleading and encourages steeling.  When we uploaded our advert to YouTube we had to make sure that we wrote a disclaimer to make it clear that we do not own any rights to Cadburys Dairy milk.
